28 Gen OOF, Olio Officina Festival 2020: “L’olio dei popoli”
A rich program for the three days of Olio Officina Festival, which will be held from Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 February in Milan by Palazzo delle Stelline (Corso magenta 61).
For the ninth edition, the main theme is “The oil of peoples”. The Palazzo delle Stelline is the theater of the event, where the meetings, the tasting workshops, the art exhibitions and all the activities take place distributed in six rooms and in the internal cloister.
For the first time, Olio Officina Festival venue is free, except for the tasting school sessions, where for organizational reasons a limited number of participants is required for each room. After the success of the past years, this time there are three tasting rooms. There are tastings of pure oil, but also of matching oils, the tasting of table olives and pates, sessions dedicated to oil and ice cream and opportunities to appreciate the oil with unusual finger food.
Three intense days, with two fixed points: first of all the celebration of sixty years since the introduction of the product category “extra virgin olive oil”, which is why it was decided to provide free admission to the event, opening it so to a wider audience. And then, the other fixed point is the tenth anniversary of the foundation of Olio Officina, the only cultural center in Italy around olive oil and condiments.
Thursday, February 6, starting in the afternoon, in Leonardo room, the Oil Workshop Culture of Oil awards will be awarded to six personalities of our time; Friday 7 and Saturday 8 February tare, the center of the festival: from 9 am to 7.30 pm. In the cloister it will be possible to taste oils from different Italian regions, and in a specific room on Friday 7 February, oils from the rest of the world, even Japanese extra virgin oils, a rarity. Meanwhile, expectations are growing for the new collaboration with the European Institute of Design. The students of the IED in Milan will show the main theme of the ninth edition of OOF with illustrations and video clips: “The oil of the peoples”.
